This was last night’s debt clock (something I’ve become completely fascinated by), a new pop up—what they’re calling “the secret window.” (the first one was on Oct 2) This time it was the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. If it’s possible, earlier in the day, before I saw the the debt clock in the evening, I sat in a park in the East Village, listening to a homeless man sing, “If I only had a heart” on his guitar, a song I adored as a child. Of all the songs to play, of all the things to appear on the debt clock a few hours later. Oz was a fake matrix. An optic. A metaphor for the Fiat system. “No heart. All hollow.” Pull back the curtain in your own life and heart.
