I have been waiting for this interview for a long time.

“[The lock downs) were bound to destroy the lives of the poor, the working class, and children. The lock down was focused protection of the laptop class, instead of focused protection of the vulnerable and old…We protected the wrong people. If you are mandating a vaccine, you have failed as a public health agency. What that means is that there’s a substantial amount of people who don’t trust you.”

Bio: Jay Bhattachary is a professor of medicine, of Economics, and of Health Research Policy at Stanford University, and the director of Stanford's Center for Demography and Economics of Health and Aging. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bhattacharya was an opponent of lockdowns and mask mandates. With Martin Kulldorff and Sunetra Gupta, he was a co-author in 2020 of the Great Barrington Declaration, which advocated letting the virus spread in lower-risk groups with the aim of herd immunity, with "focused protection" of those most at risk.

Bhattachary and his esteemed colleagues were labelled “fringe,” discredited, and attacked for spreading “dangerous” disinformation (with Martin Kulldorff and Sunetra Gupta, he was a co-author in 2020 of the Great Barrington Declaration, an open letter published in 2020) about COVID.

From Wikipedia:

“The then-U.S. National Institutes of Health director, Francis Collins, told The Washington Post that the proposed strategy was ‘a fringe component of epidemiology. This is not mainstream science. It's dangerous. It fits into the political views of certain parts of our confused political establishment.’[12][4] In a private email to Fauci, Collins called the authors of the declaration ‘fringe epidemiologists’ and said that ‘There needs to be a quick and devastating published take down of its premises’.[32][63] The Wall Street Journal's editorial board accused Collins of "work[ing] with the media to trash the Great Barrington Declaration" and of ‘Shut[ting] down covid debate".[63]
