When you connect the dots, can you still pretend the dots are not real and don’t connect? This is the question for everyone to ask themselves. There are many other questions one must ask and face to get started on the journey for truth—about themselves and about our world.
I wrote a lot in 2023 about programmed killers, serial killers being deep-state/CIA psyops, MKultra, and the Phoenix Project, an assassination and torture program. I wrote about Top Gun, in 2005, in Beauty Talk & Monsters. No one in the film world ever talks about De Niro’s Taxi Driver being an activated sleeper Phoenix Program assassin, yet it is THE missing link/piece that explains the entire fevered psychosis of Travis Bickle. We would understand the source of his so-called schizophrenia, the reason for his “breakdown,” his rage, his turn-key violence, his fractured self-unraveling in the mirror—”You talkin’ to me?” His attempted assassination attempt of the politician Charles Palantine. What would it mean to call things by their actual name? What would it mean to know the true context of character, the true background of a film, the real reason for why a culture tells a story at a certain time and place, or why it tells it over and over—casting a spell on all of us. Confucius tells us: “The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name.” (like Bresson’s editct: “Passionate for the appropriate”). This is the opposite of how doublethink and doublespeak function. We have spent decades mesmerized and devoted to these spectacles without knowing what we are really being loyal to.
Horsley: “Every criminal conspiracy includes developing sophisticated means to cover its traces; in the case of organized crime and entertainment, one obvious reason for criminals to want to take control of Hollywood might be just this: to create myths that obscure the truth around their own activities. Think Jimmy Savile, expanded outward to include an entire ‘pop’ culture…One thing that [Fincher’s] Mindhunter leaves out—like almost all representations of serial killers—is context, or deep (state) background.”
