8:19:24
I was walking through the woods today, across a stone basin of wet leaves in the rain, cleaning up some trash and wood debris. While walking, I saw something white and gleaming in the dark leaves. I walked towards it and picked it up, thinking it was a piece of plastic. Instead it was a perfectly round, perfectly smooth, white stone. There are none like it around. None on the property. It didn’t match anything.
I rinsed it with the garden hose and placed it on my kitchen window, by my black tourmaline.
The stone was such an anomaly in the landscape, it almost felt precious, like a jewel or a crystal ball. Something put there for me. A sign, a message, as I walked and searched at the base of the mountain. The moment I picked up the the bright white stone, I knew it was special. Later, I remembered Diane Keaton’s character in Something’s Gotta Give tell Jack Nicholson’s character that white stones, which she always collects on the beach, are good luck.
I decided I should look up the spiritual meaning of white stones.
Here is what I found:
To him that overcometh will I give…a white stone….
— Revelation 2:17
In the Bible, Jesus promises a white stone.
“A stone, a white one.”
