Orson Welles predicts the future:

"We have yet to see whether civilization can exist without slavery."

This scene from the end of Henry Jaglom's Someone to Love is one of my favorite moments in cinema. The generational love question Jaglom poses to Orson is important and prescient. Jaglom's (Welles' protege) Déjà Vu (it has a silly trailer) is one of my favorite love films. When I screened Déjà Vu for my students on the last day of class in the fall of 2018 in my film course on love, amazingly they were riveted and even stayed after class to finish watching the movie since it ran over time. It was a lovely pedagogical moment for me.

Canadian Freedom convoy address to the nation

Amen. So grateful to these people. Today's protest for the Feb 11 termination of City Workers in NYC was very poorly attended. We marched across the Brooklyn bridge in the pouring rain.
