Very sad about the recent events in Ottawa and the treatment of the Canadian truckers.

"We are all cowardly"

Welcome to the future

The new issue of New York Magazine, with AOC on its cover, positioned as some revolutionary-style proletariat in action is infuriating, especially in light of what the progressive left just did to Canada and its working class truckers. AOC worked at a coffee shop 5 years ago so that makes her a working class hero, but fuck the actual working class population on whom our economies and freedoms depend? Let them be trampled, mocked, ignored, and destroyed by the power elite. I worked in restaurants for years, too, and scrubbed toilets for wealthy New Yorkers, and taught university for years for an unlivable wage with no healthcare benefits, and I'm still broke. Where's my medal? These people's self-congratulatory narcissism is so pathological and grotesque, it's incomprehensible at this point. I have a theory about why there is now such disdain for the working class. It's to do with our complete immersion in celebrity culture and Reality TV (aspirational fame and popularity) for the past 20 years. We so identify with the celebrity class now, we have no idea how to relate to real people anymore. Real injustices. People who are critical of the system, not just crawling all over it in an effort to ascend and win at any cost. If all you care about is power, fame, and money, if you have been trained to be a media sycophant, you don't care what's behind it, or who's behind it, or what it does to the greater fabric of society. To the quality and integrity of existence. They've taken all the honor out of hard work, real work. Real life. AOC (AOC is Jesus; Fauci is a saint) is another Hilary Clinton in the making. You cannot be a COVID-regime disciple without being a media sycophant. The two go hand in hand.

Here is Matt Taibbi, for example, on the class shift of journalism. Yet another example of the contagion of the celebrity ethos and paradigm--everyone just wanting fame and power. I've seen this in my field as well--the arts, academia, the intellectual world. Hollowed out.
